Alpha Gamma Delta

Helping out our Sisters and Community

Philanthropy

The sisters of Alpha Gamma Delta always work to support the international philanthropy of the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation and Healthy Living. This foundation provides support and scholarship for sisters in need. For more information, please visit http://www.alphagammadeltafoundation.org/

Our newest endeavor nationally for diabetes is ‘Defeat Diabetes One Step at a Time’ which is part of the Healthy Living campaign. The program focuses on dietetics, nutrition, exercise and more! For more information, please visit

Our chapter is also involved with NMU based fundraisers and philanthropies. We are proud to be a part of Make a Difference Day each semester! This past year we raked leaves in the fall and in the spring we helped out the Salvation Army in Marquette by doing some spring cleaning and sorting donations.

Recently, student organizations were given the chance to help out NMU’s United States Olympic Education Center, or USOEC, for the speed skating events that were held during the semester! Organizations were asked to paint wooden ice skates that decorated the city of Marquette to advertise for the event and generate community support. Our skate represents the fun and bubbly spirit of AGD!

We are proud to be a part of other organizations’ events as well. We are glad to help out other Greek organizations and their causes, as well as the projects put on by Greek Council and PanHellenic such as the St. Jude’s “Up Till Dawn” fundraiser. The sisters of AGD are always ready to lend a helping hand for a good cause!

We participate in Younker’s Community Day Sale to raise money for the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation each semester. We are looking forward to creating a full blown ΑΓΔ event to become a Jewel Chapter, like we did in 2007.
